The day a good friend of mine broke down what fear really was, changed my life and allowed me to start living on another level. It is something I still have to remind myself of day-to-day and catch myself in, but I am getting there.
I don't know about you but, when I used to think of fear I would think of the hairs on the back of my neck standing up in that dark alley I had no business being in but, when you really take a step back and think about it, fear is evident and presenting itself in a lot of different ways.
*That situation you are staying in that has you miserable or that you know you are settling for, that job or relationship.
*Putting off things in your life til the last possible minute
*Clutter and chaos
*Feeling stuck in making a decision or being hesitant to face making the decision at all.
*Getting down on yourself and doubting what you are truly capable of-this one will get you stuck and not moving forward every time!
*being anxious and worrying about your situation, but not making a move, especially when you know what you want
*Keepin that icebox where your heart used to be (haha) being closed off because of the pain you have felt in the past
*Being stressed out
*Wanting more in your life, but not knowing how to get there
How is fear showing up in your life? It took a second to realize how many things in my life boiled down to fear, fear of allowing myself to be great and be me.
The words that changed my life: Fear does NOT exist to paralyze you, hold you back, have dominion over you, or to stop you from enjoying the fruits of life. Fear is a powerful tool given to us to recognize the areas of our lives that need faith and light shined on them. It is not something to fight or overcome. You know, those areas that don't align with your purpose in this life. Where we aren't connecting with the world in the way that will bring the most good and healing to the world. Areas we are supposed to be heading a different direction in. This definition of fear especially rang true to me, in showing the areas where I wasn't trusting and needed to get to work releasing my worry and living to my full potential and greatness.
Each of us were created in the image of greatness, and meant to be great. To believe you are worth anything less than greatness therefore, is selling yourself, and those you were put here to help short.
